neoCACHE

High-performance HTTP caching

Caching assists operators in making the most of their bandwidth. neoCACHE provides transparent caching for HTTP/HTTPS protocols and reduces round-trip time for browser requests. It minimizes re-fetching of content from external sources and provides content filtering and statistics monitoring.

Prefetch Support

neoCACHE can pre-fetch certain web-assets such as Javascript, Cascading Stylesheets, and images which results in an enhanced user-experience.

High Performance

neoCACHE is designed for high-performance in demanding environments, and can be deployed in complex hierarchies of parents and siblings allowing for the highest possible performance and availability.

A single neoCACHE is capable of handling up to 800 requests per second whilst maintaining sub-second customer latency. Deploying neoCACHE in a memory-based-frontend and storage-only-parent hierarchy allows the system to scale sideways as your network grows.

Complete WCCP2 support

neoCACHE supports WCCP1 (Web Cache Coordination Protocol) and WCCP2 Layer2/Layer3 redirection from Cisco routers and switches. As an added bonus neoCACHE supports a very seldom implemented feature of WCCP2 - WCCP Packet Return. WCCP Packet return allows the cache to return packets to the redirection device (Cisco Router) when it's load exceeds manageable levels. This means that your customers do not get timeout errors when the cache is overloaded, but instead perform their HTTP fetches directly

Custom Caching Algorithms

neoCACHE is capable of caching the range-requests of Microsoft's Windows Update effectively, thus allowing an operator to save bandwidth on items that aren't normally cacheable. Even Youtube.com videos are cacheable with neoCACHE. The custom caching algorithms are extensible to easily implement support for other "strange HTTP" mechanisms that are employed by websites and vendors.

A neoCACHE with sufficient disk has been shown to provide up to 30% byte hit ratios on about 50mbps of traffic.
